We are revisiting every system, template and process to better optimize our delivery, and so that HCM can help propel the firm in its groth and business objectives. This is a very different kind of role for me so I am learning rapidly and enjoying breaking and rebuilding things. I also love still getting to do meaningful DEI work for the firm.

As an Executive Director and member of the Chicago SHRM Board I worked to drive operational rigor and board performance. I also served as the Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging leading a talented committee whose goal is to elevate diversity within the core of Chicago SHRM to support, inspire and empower all members.In 2020 I helped create and co-Lead a DEI 5-part series for Chicago SHRM which won the prestigious 2020 SHRM Pinnacle Award. In 2021 my committee is building a 6-part DEI Learning Journey to help educate and upskill HR professionals in diversity fundamentals and best practices.

I joined the Talent Acquisition leadership team early in their build journey and loved the challenge of designing from the ground up while also having tangible delivery goals. I was hired to create the Diversity Recruiting team, weaving DEI into every aspect of our recruiting and talent brand approach. Some of my wins include securing company-wide buy-in on an ambitious Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Recruiting strategy, advising and coaching senior leaders and teams, building and delivering numerous training sessions to continuously up-level the Talent Acquisition team, fixing the candidate self-ID process to go from 0% self-ID rates in EMEA and APAC to 98%+, launching a diverse slate strive goal, overhauling our external partner organizations to achieve more positive outcomes, and partnering with the Talent Marketing team to enhance our external and internal content and branding.

I built LinkedIn's first global diversity recruiting strategy and team (which I soon renamed Inclusion Recruiting). During my 4 years at LinkedIn I set the vision and structure for how we approach inclusive recruiting, collaborating with the talent acquisition teams and partnering closely with business leaders, HRBPs, and other stakeholders. I grew the team to 8 people globally, and together we launched innovative programs and events such as Open Mic Night and the Executive Recruiting "Bridge" program. We established new win-win relationships with key external talent partners to connect with world-class candidates who were previously overlooked. And we trained and empowered both our recruiting team as well as our hiring managers and interviews so they understood how to properly assess talent and mitigate their own unconscious or conscious biases. The result was a significant increase in diverse hiring rates across the company. My own learning during this time was tremendous. In particular, I learned the in's and out's of talent acquisition and built skills around how to scale across the global enterprise, ruthlessly prioritize, manage a high performing team, and identify and iterate on good ideas to make them great.
