I brought steady leadership to turbulent times of innovation and change to West Ridge for over 1.5 yrs before handing over the role to a full time Executive Director. I played a major role in enhancing the overall operation for one of Simcoe County’s largest non profit early childhood education day cares. I introduced many new initiatives including the first of its kind compost program, enhanced the children’s experience through building updates, enhanced staff experiences through professional development meetings and workshops, staff evaluations and job descriptions and increased community with Parents and Families. This contract used all my skills as a professional coach and facilitator, long time entrepreneur with years of business experience and an ability to build and maintain relationships. I had to think strategically and make things happen fast before moving on to the next project. It was one of the most interesting, exciting and fulfilling jobs of my career!

For 10 years Kat helped Tourism Barrie develop and market events for the City of Barrie. She brought her expertise in the motorcoach tour market to the organization. She worked with the ED for over 10 years before hiring a new ED and retiring her marketing position. In her final year Kat was voted into the President position working hand in hand with the Executive Director.

As an Executive Director of the 4th largest Kiwanis Music Festival in Canada, Kat enjoyed creating and maintaining the relationship between the Festival, its Music Teachers, her Board of Directors and the students. She developed the Spirit of Music Showcase to highlight the talented participants from each years Festival as well as showcased the tremendously gifted teachers from our area. She wrote and receive grants to help the Festival specifically the Choral Discipline be seen and heard more effectively. She increased donor giving and corporate sponsorship providing the students with greatest resources to draw from. This time certainly helps Kat be empathic to the Non Profit Executive Directors and CEO's she works with today as a Leadership Coach Consultant.

Kat started Bob-Kat Tours and Cruises as the Entrepreneur she is known as. She loved travelling the world showing her ever faithful clients and friends the wonders of what we have. Iceland is her favorite destination - a land of physical contrast showing its strengths and its challenges through the heart of its people. She lead the company to several years of million dollar sales and was awarded the coveted honour of the Ontario MotorCoach Hall of Fame during her ownership of Bob-Kat Tours & Cruises. It was only due to 9/11 that Kat took the opportunity to evaluate her future knowing only that it had to involve people. Being able to combine all her love of entrepreneurism, travel and her deep love of people, finding a home in the profession of coaching was an amazing and easy transition for Kat.
