With over 23 years of public accounting experience, I have provided assurance services to large complex governmental entities, transportation entities, retirement systems, higher education institutions, school districts, utilities and not-for-profit organizations. My experience includes leading the audits of the largest top 10 cities and counties in California and Nevada, the largest California Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO), transit providers and tollways, the largest water district and the largest public university system in the country.I have extensive expertise in conducting audits in accordance with the Uniform Guidance, including the State of California Single Audit with over $90B in federal expenditures, and have led the training of both clients and other audit professionals on the complexities of the Single Audit. This includes a recent presentation on “The Promises and Pitfalls of the American Rescue Plan Act.” Having enjoyed serving my profession through volunteer work with the AICPA State and Local Government Expert Panel, I am committed to technical expertise, quality client service and outstanding team leadership.I thrive on helping my clients through the challenges they face, beyond just the financial reporting. While I find it rewarding to research complex transactions and relative technical literature to arrive at the best solution, I enjoy assisting my clients with operational and regulatory issues that they may be facing.As one of too few Filipina executives in public accounting and a proud working mother of two young daughters, I’m particularly passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). To bridge the divide of gender and ethnic diversity, I actively serve on the Women Leading at Crowe Council, furthering gender equity for women professionals and I also serve on the Crowe Audit DE&I Council. Lastly, I’m the Chair of the Board for the International Society of Filipinos in Finance and Accounting (ISFFA), an organization I helped found to educate, assist and mentor filipinos in finance and accounting, to help filipinos acquire leadership skills and confidence to achieve their highest aspirations in their chosen industries globally and in the US.
