Born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland, Ms. Messick showed an early bent toward the arts. As a child, when in charge of the kids at her mother’s Day Care, she directed them in plays she wrote; taking after her father, an oral storyteller and tax accountant whose patrons visited to hear his tales as he found a way to their refund.After graduating High School Ms. Messick moved to Texas, modeling and finding success in Theatre Arts, she moved to Hollywood Ca. and studied at the Stella Adler Conservatory and the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Kathy also trained at Brian Reise Acting Studios where Brian hand picked her to help start his Youth Division. As head of the Youth Division for 19 years, Kathy mentored many young students to stardom. Ms. Messick's worked in all capacities behind and in front of the camera, but more recently has segued into writing bringing all her productions skills, acting skills, and what she learned from teaching acting to the page.Kathy has an array of projects, most recently launching the First Comic Series Ever For Generation Net, CYBER OPTICS! The Printed Series gets a companion in 2015 - A CYBER OPTICS MOTION COMIC SERIES on the NARR8 APP with APPISODES available on all i devices and smart t.v. A recently produced Live Action Interstitial entitled FOOD TIME, boast "My Plate Standards" & hands on recipes, with a DJ and three teen hosts. Features being shepherded into production include, EVERYBODY WANTS TO GET IN THE ACT, The Life and Times of Jimmy Durante and GEROPODS, a Science Fiction, coming of old age comedy.Whether observing pockets of culture to write about, teaching in her Santa Monica studio, or pitching one of her recent projects into production; Ms. Messick believes that, “the highest expression of art, in the most perfect form of drama is the teaching of the human heart something about itself.” Whether that is an epiphany or just finding a way to laugh, her mission is to free expression and inspire imagination.
