McDonald’s HR Consulting Team is a unique world class HR consulting call center that provides advice, coaching and consulting to McDonald’s U.S. system - including field HR and operations staff, restaurant management, and independent franchisee organizations - in all areas of employment law; employment investigations; employee relations; and other human resource questions, issues and concerns. As Director of McDonald's Human Resource Consulting Team, managed and developed a team of 10 -12 human resource professionals that delivered coaching and/or consulting advice to McDonald's field HR and operations staff and independent franchisee organizations in all areas of employment law; employment investigations; employee relations; and other human resource questions, issues and concerns. The HR Consulting Team additionally provided an avenue for initial intake of employment related questions and concerns from restaurant employees working in company owned restaurants. As Director, personally developed and delivered training to the department and other sectors of McDonald’s system on employment law topics, respectful workplace and employment investigations. As Employment Counsel and then Senior Employment Counsel for McDonald's Corporation, provided expert legal advice, counsel and representation to various segments of McDonald’s system on all variety of U.S. federal, state and local employment law matters including employment-related internal investigations, charges, complaints, and law suits in the areas of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, PDA, ADA, FMLA, veterans and military leave, wage & hour and child labor compliance, hiring, performance, discipline, discharge, employee relations, personnel policies, practices and handbooks, immigration-related compliance, and other day-to-day employment matters. Personally conducted, supervised or consulted on hundreds of basic to complex sensitive employment related investigations and audits across the country involving the full spectrum of human capital at McDonald’s. Supervised and directed outside employment counsel relating to state, federal and agency cases and settlement negotiations. Drafted investigation reports, charge of discrimination position statements, supporting memorandum and other documents. Developed and delivered employment law, respectful workplace and employment investigation training to various sectors of McDonald’s system.
