Consulting DirectorFocusedu -Leadership For Higher Education May 2018 - PresentMatthews, North Carolina, UsfocusEDU is a leading higher education consulting firm that addresses institutional needs by offering assessment and evaluation consulting, national search services and interim leadership appointments in the registrar area and provides recommendations for the operation of the Office of the Registrar.● Asses and evaluate operations through meeting with stakeholders throughout the college.● Write reports that address successes and challenges, as well as make recommendations.● Recognized for my knowledge and skills, by serving as an advisor for the Provost.● Co-managed an office when there was no staff as a result of retirement and medical issues. Kept the office operational for a semester while staffing was put in place. Organized the physical office as well as created a suggested plan for long term improvements for the office.● Changed a technical process that was done by two people for two weeks each semester to a process that needed no more than five minutes to complete.● Provided leadership to successfully operate a degree audit system and graduate all students using a technical rather than manual process. -
University RegistrarBentley University Jun 2019 - Jun 2021Waltham, Massachusetts, UsAssessed the operation of the Office of the University Registrar. Developed and implemented processes to improve the student and faculty experience. Collaborated to implement Workday, a new student information system, and developed solutions for the challenges that the new system presented. Successfully managed projects in response to COVID-19 procedures. ● Created tracking of issues related to the implementation of Workday (a new student information system) to collaborate with IT. As a result, issues were addressed and resolved with a much shorter turnaround time.● Collaborated with internal and external colleagues to improve the use of Workday. In doing this, new ideas and uses for the system were developed.● Served on the Emergency Response Team to advise on Academic Affairs concerns as plans were made to prepare for COVID. A notable achievement was my creation of an inventory of available traditional and non-traditional study space for students to use when they could not physically attend classes for hybrid and remote classes. As a result, there was a study space for each student with a scheduled class.● Determined best use of classrooms to meet COVID guidelines. This prevented classrooms from being used for two consecutive meeting times. By doing this, the classrooms could have time for the air to change. -
RegistrarMount Ida College Jul 2011 - Mar 2019Newton, Ma, UsTransformed the Office of the Registrar from time consuming manual processes to current technology that created efficiency and accuracy. The technical changes created financial benefits as well as organizational benefits to the college. The most significant accomplishment made was transitioning students and staff through the closure of the college.● Appointed as one of three staff to plan and facilitate processes to support students during the closure of the college. This resulted in the students experiencing outstanding service and support as they were faced with a difficult transition. Continued in this role as a consultant after the college closed.● Led planning and implementation of online registration for all students. This process that had previously been lengthy and frustrating became a process that took each student approximately a minute to register.● Implemented a process to monitor ongoing student academic activity. This process kept the college in compliance with federal guidelines and quickly identified students who were struggling and in need of assistance.● Developed a reporting dashboard for faculty and staff that allowed access to academic information any time rather than when the office was staffed. Faculty and staff were very grateful and excited for this because it helped them more easily do their jobs.● Collaborated to create a tracking system for withdrawn students. This resulted in a significant cost savings for dining services expenses because the college was being charged by the third party dining service company for withdrawn students. -
