Clerk of the Court, 13th Court of Appeals-Performs advanced and senior-level managerial appellate work with a focus on procedural and jurisdictional issues; responsible for filing, maintaining, and preserving official court records; recommends and drafts internal court policies; coordinates and reviews all audits and required reporting; coordinates and assists with all financial reporting including submitting operating budgets and legislative appropriations requests; and, manages or supervises most general aspects of court operations.Previously served the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office in various capacities over many years including 2nd Asst DA-office administrator, Assistant District Attorney-Crimes against Children Special Felony Prosecutor, and Felony- and Misdemeanor-level prosecutor. Past civil trial and litigation experiences include federal civil rights litigation and jury trial, complex contractual disputes, off-shore lease disputes, and general insurance/premise defense. Past criminal defense trial and litigation experiences at all levels of federal and state offenses. As well as experience in family law, parental termination, and mental health law (including experience as both a magistrate and defense/ad litem attorney for civil commitments).
