I played an essential financial management role at Danjaq, the highly successful Broccoli family-owned film production company, best known for the James Bond series, with cumulative earnings in excess of $6B. With the company for nearly 20 years, in 2005 I was promoted from Controller to VP of Finance. During my time at Danjaq, I provided comprehensive business and wealth management services to the family across 40+ entities including the company’s principals, affiliated companies, charitable foundation, and pension plans. The procedures and audits I put into place resulted in multi-million dollar savings. My impact was attributable in part to understanding the needs of ultra-wealthy families on all levels, my ability to work closely with family and studio personnel, and the strength of the network I developed in the film industry. Highlights of accomplishments include:■ Supported overall financial operations of Eon Productions, Danjaq’s subsidiary, with key responsibilities including monitoring above-the-line talent agreements, processing royalties, and executing guild payments.■ Worked with consultants to salvage a year of financial data following a computer crash; I also implemented a revised system, including strong backup system, to reduce the chance of recurrence■ Spearheaded creating a paperless office ■ Prepared and finalized film income forecasts and cash flow analysis, and managed and monitored a very large investment portfolio■ Assumed an in-house financial manager role for personal investments, trusts, and foundations ■ Performed financial projections to achieve maximum tax benefits and prepared documentation for domestic and international tax returns■ Ensured compliance with WGA, DGA and other guild requirements■ Coordinated annual distribution of funds for The Dana & Albert Broccoli Charitable Foundation, working directly with grant-making committee to ensure annual distribution was met and tax implications were accounted for.
