Working as a mechanical engineer in the roll shop of the plant. Supervising a 4 person hourly workforce. This includes overseeing the safety of employees to ensure all work on the rolls is done safely and efficiently. In addition to this, it involves working closely with production to ensure rolls are finished and delivered in time according to the rolling schedule. Also, working with the sales team to revise and create drawings of rail profiles in AutoCAD for customers. Outside of traditional work practices, activities include representing the company as Penn State recruiting team member and interviewer and organizing volunteer efforts for the facility.

Working as a maintenance manager to supervise a 40 person hourly workforce. This includes overseeing the safety of employees and removing hazards through re-engineering job tasks and equipment. In addition to this, it involves formulating maintenance plans for weekend outages based on criticality of impact to production. Also, developing improvement and replacement plans for obsolete parts and equipment in disrepair. Working on a capital project by coordinating efforts to rebuild a $350 thousand locker room for 90 employees. Outside of traditional work practices, activities include collaborating with the Union to develop adequate training through being a member of the joint plant training committee and representing the company as Penn State recruiting team member.

Learned the value of customer service through creation and sales of products. Trained new employees and developed a new manual for training and overall maintenance of the work environment. Balanced course load and work load throughout all four years of college.

Facilitated a group of 11 first and second-year women engineers throughout the Fall 2011 semester by motivating the retention of classroom knowledge.

Formulated strategic research plans in order to perform initial experiments and further related ones. Evaluated the effects of iron on the growth of bacteria. Investigated how varying levels of hydrogen affected methane production in bacteria. Examined the effects of acetate presence on methane production in bacteria.

Educated 65 high school girls about the engineering career and academic preparation through positive communication, team work and presentation skills. Provided effective mentoring in order to assist participants in hands-on engineering projects.
