Dr. Katia Sol is a leading expert in the dynamics of global change, leadership for human flourishing, and interpersonal and cross-cultural dialogue. She is a systems change thought-leader, group facilitator, educator, coach, and experience designer. Katia currently serves as a Lecturer at Stanford University in the areas of Leadership, LifeWorks and Wellness Education and as the Assistant Director of the Dalai Lama Fellows program.For 25 years, Dr. Sol has grounded her academic expertise and work with engaged practice, designing and leading transformative global leadership programs for organizations and communities around the world. Her experience includes working with community-based education and international development projects in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Israel, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Portugal, Thailand, Nepal, and the US, and with 30+ Indigenous communities. She is passionate about cultivating belonging and supporting people to communicate and connect across differences, particularly in our increasingly polarized world. In addition to her work at Stanford, Dr. Sol is a Director for the Ecology of Leadership, through which she has led 5000+ hours of in-depth, in person and online group leadership trainings. She is also the founder of Sol Transformations, a boutique consulting agency through which she specializes in custom retreats, women's leadership, youth leadership, and gratitude trainings, and offers speaking engagements and coaching.Dr. Sol's dedication to education is embodied by her own lifelong learning - she holds a BA in Latin American Studies (Stanford), minor in Spanish & Portuguese (Stanford), MA in Education (Stanford), PhD in Transformative Leadership and Learning (University of Toronto), and a Masters of Science in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She also holds a diversity of non-formal certifications in areas such as leadership training, counseling and trauma healing, council facilitation, and women's leadership.
