With Afghan Women (WAW) is a project born in the wake of the recent events of Afghanistan, which culminated with the fall of Kabul of 15 August, 2021. More then 600 volunteers answered the call of blogger Marta De Vivo and manager Veronica Civiero with the goal of doing something concrete to give a voice to those who, in Afghanistan, have lost it, providing their skills to the project. With Afghan Women is a community-driven project, and it aims at: # Giving a voice to Afghan women and their stories;# Raising awareness about the current situation of Afghanistan;# Breaking down the fake-news system by selecting official sources and disseminating reliable news;# Informing about activities and fundraisers that could give practical and tangible support to the cause. ---I was a member of two teams, the one in charge of researching news and useful information about what was happening in Afghanistan and the different initiatives undertaken at the global, European, national and local levels (both Italian and Afghan), and the translation team. # Team news: as coordinator, I was in charge of drafting the minutes of the meetings and daily recaps of the activities carried out by the team; coordinating and supporting the team members by helping them with the drafting of texts and the management of the platform used to coordinate the work of the project (Trello); reviewing the content created (in terms of form and correct use of English and Italian); and communicating and collaborating with the other teams that make up the project for the efficient performance of tasks. In addition, as a member of the team, I was also responsible for writing short articles to be published on the project's official Instagram channel. #Translator team: I was in charge of proofreading texts written in English or translating texts from Italian to English.

I was assigned to two main sectors, the social one and the intellectual property one. The former included the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNAIDS, GAVI, The Global Fund, while the latter included the World International Property Organization (WIPO). My main responsibilities were: taking part in meetings of these organizations, writing down the minutes of each of these, and then compose ministerial messages to be sent to the relevant offices in Rome. Moreover, I had to carry out research to gain more information about and analyze in-depth the themes discussed by the Agencies in the various committees and meetings. Overall, I had to provide support to the Councilor I was assigned to. I was also in charge of some of the organizational aspects of the visit of His Excellency the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella and Former Vice Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio to the 108th session of the International Labour Conference (Geneva, 10-21 June 2019).

During this volunteering experience I had different responsibilities. I was in charge of organizing the data base of the Organization (dealing mainly with the publications of the Movement) and the drafting of the newsletter. I was in charge of supervising and taking part in recreational activities at a center for elderly people and at an afterschool facility for children attending elementary and middle school. I was also responsible for the management of the local tourist information office. There I had to provide information to the tourists either via phone or via email or in person, and I had to update the website and the newsletter with relevant information on the main events taking place in the city and the region.
