Special Days Camps exists to provide a safe and memorable camping opportunity in a medically supervised environment for children, ages 5-17, who have experienced cancer and their siblings. We serve over 200 campers annually, serving the entire state of Michigan, including campers from more than 20 Michigan counties. Since 1979, we've served almost 10,000 kids and 20,000 family members. We offer traditional camping activities, adapted to meet the special needs of all our campers. Over 80% of our volunteer staff are former campers, that includes leadership, program and medical staff. Our kids grow up and want to give back, because camp offers them something that they don't find many places - a community of people who understand what they are going through. Special Days gives kids with cancer a safe place to simply be kids, it gives siblings a chance to support themselves with people who understand what it means to have a sibling with cancer with a week just for them, and it provides parents with a reprieve from the day-to-day responsibilities of tending to children navigating a cancer diagnosis.

As the Grant Manager, I specialized in researching, applying for, and securing grant funding opportunities to help eliminate weekend childhood hunger in West Michigan.I am passionate about writing compelling proposals, ensuring compliance, managing budgets, and submitting impact reports, knowing that it's helping local students in her community build their success stories through a backpack filled with love, hope, food, and prayers.

As the Director of Giving I strategically establish, develop, and carry out an effective multi-year fundraising program to support the on-going programs, growth, projects and activities of Hand2Hand as we seek to end weekend childhood hunger in West Michigan.

As the Community Engagement Specialist at Hand2Hand, I developed strategic plans for growth within the community by engaging businesses, schools, Individuals, and churches.

- Built partnerships with companies that needed an outlet for short dated, excess and overstocked products. The products were moved to a network of more than 2,000 vetted NGO field partners around the globe.

- Communicated with field partners relative to their current and future product needs - Developed new and existing non-governmental organization (NGO) partners- Served as the primary liaison between International Aid and our NGO partners

-Helped set up all Picnic Pops Concerts at Cannonsburg Ski Lodge-Worked will call at concerts as well as other various jobs- Wrote draft press releases for the 2014 concert series-Wrote draft bio's on all the guest performers for the upcoming 2013/2014 concert series-Worked with many social media outlets and updates- Contacted many community members to help promote the Picnic Pops Concerts- Distributed flyers and posters to surrounding neighborhoods- Made numerous excel spreadsheets to keep symphony information organized and updated- Helped organize community events to attend to help promote concerts
