I am currently in my 2nd year as the Director of Forensics at Minnesota State University, Mankato. In addition to my previous duties as Assistant Director, I am also responsible for facilitating all meetings and mentoring graduate coaches, requesting travel funding and reconciling the budget, and collaborating with admissions to increase recruitment of new team members.

As the Assistant Director of Forensics at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I coached our competitive speech team--coordinating event preparation, travel arrangements, and facilitating team and coach meetings. I am also a professor in the Communication Studies department. I have taught numerous undergraduate classes, including Performance of Literature, Advanced Public Communication, Professional Communication & Interviewing and Fundamentals of Communication.

As the Assistant Director of Speech and Debate at Simpson College, I had the opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant, passionate students and colleagues I have ever worked with. I coached speech events in every category and helped assist Director, Spencer Waugh, in all elements of running a successful program.

The Comm Studies department at Minnesota State University, Mankato taught me everything I know about being an effective instructor. They helped me learn about syllabi and course preparation; honing my skills in Critical Communication Pedagogy; and supporting my students in every avenue--whether that is in the classroom or outside of it.

Partnership magazine was my sole responsibility during my time as a graduate assistant for the Center for School-University Partnerships (CSUP) at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I attended events sponsored by CSUP and the College of Education, I interviewed teachers, professors, administrators and guest speakers to attain content for the impact-based magazine. I also took photographs of events and people who were highlighted in the feature stories. I organized and wrote 80% of the content for each issue. I was also involved in the editing process and worked with the graphic designer to make decisions about the look of the magazine.
