Hi, I am Katie Bui, a Forensic Biology Specialist alum at the University of Toronto Mississauga.I was involved in a collaborative research project with other fellow forensic students, investigating on the interference of substances that lead to false positives for THC and cocaine in oral fluid testing devices, specifically the Dräger DrugTest 5000 and the SOTOXA™ Oral Fluid Mobile System. The research was under the supervision of Dr. Karen Woodall.My passion lies in researching various fields in forensics, particularly Forensic Genetics, Forensic Toxicology such as oral fluid testing for cannabis and drug-facilitated sexual assault (DFSA), Forensic Identification, 3D reconstruction, and crime scene reconstruction. Contrasting to my science-based background and academics, I have a keen interest in the arts and enjoy exploring various things to broaden my knowledge. I am always open to new opportunities and to networking with others!
