Specializes in the design, manufacture, modification, and fitting of footwear and orthotics to address foot and lower limb conditions. Working closely with healthcare professionals to create custom orthotic devices that alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall foot function. Tasks include taking detailed measurements, selecting appropriate materials, fabricating orthotic devices, and performing adjustments based on patient feedback and clinical assessments. Maintains up to date knowledge of foot anatomy, biomechanics, and the ability to use specialized tools and equipment.

Responsible for helping students and graduates prepare for successful careers by engaging with them at key intervals to review topics such as resume preparation, career development, mock interviewing, the job search process, etc. Assists with identifying local employment opportunities, populating job boards, creating resumes, and coordinating campus events to support active students in their job search endeavors. Plans and coordinates career fairs, employer visits, expos, virtual employer sessions, and other employment events in order to provide opportunities for students to connect with employers and understand the variety of entry-level positions available to them in the industry. Follows up with graduates and employers, as needed, to ensure employment verification information is submitted timely and documented accurately.

Assists students with career development and planning process, including obtaining information on companies, current opportunities for employment and hiring practices, and making the transition from school to career. Distributes information on employment. Maintains the organization, updating, and distribution of credential files. Educates students on credential file procedures.

Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of supplies within the tool room. Creates and keeps a list of tools and equipment available for distribution, maintains records of which products are signed out and to whom, and then signs products back in when they are returned. If tools or equipment are broken, fixes items in a timely manner to ensure full capability of welding lab. If tools or equipment are lost, orders additional stock of those materials, tools, or equipment for the school. The duties and responsibilities of a tool room attendant revolve around inventory control, but a tool room attendant must also understand how to use equipment to explain the process to new employees.
