The main responsibilities that I had within the department where to actively encourage students to take part in physical activity, enjoy sport and be engaged throughout the lessons that I delivered. I always ensure that the girls are fully included within the lesson and that all the content is differentiated appropriately. I had a few achievements within the department throughout my year as a PE teacher was getting my Level 2 BTEC students to achieve their aspirational grades for their final results. Also ensuring that the PE department runs smoothly and effectively through the COVID crisis, ensuring that the students stay physically active.

Swimming Teacher - Working at Cookridge Hall has allowed me to teach younger children how to swim, from a variety of different ages and abilities trying to improve their confidence within the water and ensure they stay safe at all times. I am in charge off all of their assessments and ensuring that they are appropriately challenged at all times.

I worked at SBSJ as a PE and citizenship teacher at St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College. I was largely responsible for teaching KS3 classes and following and creating various specifications for the different subjects, ensuring that students are always appropriately challenged. Within these lessons I used a variety of different teaching strategies to engage my students, ensuring they are always actively involved within a stimulating learning environment. For example, in PE I used strategies such as; - sport education, teaching games for understanding, co-operative learning and the use of ICT within learning. Within citizenship I used discussions, debates, group work, carousel work, presentations and fact finders.

Swimming Teacher - Working at the swim school has allowed me to teach younger children how to swim, from a variety of different ages and abilities trying to improve their confidence within the water and ensure they stay safe at all times. I get in the water with these children to ensure that they are effectively supported and can progress.

Explorer Leader - I volunteered at the 15th Long Eaton Scout Explorer group in Long Eaton during the summer period that I had off from teaching. These young people are aged 16-18 years old, and there were on average around 30 individuals each week. We carried out various different activities such as water sports, camping, weeks away, fire building, climbing and many more. Explorers is all about getting young people out in the outdoors and building key life skills such as team building, problem solving and communication.

Supply Teacher for an agency working at various different schools around the Nottingham area. Teaching numerous different subject and age groups across the secondary schools.

Parkrun Run Director for Long Eaton - I built up the Parkrun in Long Eaton from the start, pulling the community together to create a weekly event. I researched the local area, engaged the local community and built up all the information to create this weekly event with the help of the local people. This is now a very successful event that is attended in high numbers weekly, which can be attended by anyone one from any age group. It was a fantastic project to be a part of and create working with the local community and pulling a variety of ages, backgrounds, and experiences together.

Physical Activity Assistant – This job role involved developing the walking for health scheme. Also encouraging the people of Erewash more physically active. Furthermore developing parkrun in the community.

Duty Manager – Completing the day to day running of the leisure centre. Dealing with members of the public and managing staff. Also ensuring that the 3 pools where effectively running.

Leisure Attendant - The leisure attendant position at Erewash Borough Council, allowed me to work within a busy Leisure centre. Learning all aspects of Leisure centre work from children parties, swimming galas to setting up the gym for various clubs and societies, to the life guarding of the open swimming sessions and cleaning of all areas. Also I have had experience at working on the reception desk and back office organising paperwork and making phone calls.

Level 1 Swimming Teacher - Working at the swim school has allowed me to teach younger children how to swim, from a variety of different ages and abilities trying to improve their confidence within the water and ensure they stay safe at all times.

Level 1 Swimming Teacher – Working at the leisure centre teaching mainly young children how to swim in group lessons and one –to-one. Also carrying out stroke development on older more capable children and adults.

Learning all aspects of Leisure centre work from lifeguarding , setting up for big events such as BUCS and graduation to the cleaning of all areas. Also I have had experience at working on the reception desk and back office organising paperwork and making phone calls.
