Undergraduate Researcher - Mines Chemistry Department
CurrentI am currently an undergraduate researcher in the Domaille Laboratory within the Mines Chemistry Department. Throughout my experience in the laboratory, I have gained hands-on experience with multi-step chemical synthesis and chemical analysis using a variety of techniques including NMR, thin layer chromatography, and column chromatography. In addition, I attend weekly research meetings to provide progress updates to the primary faculty investigator and the other four members of the lab, and I gave a final oral PowerPoint presentation summarizing the research and learning outcomes achieved over the course of the spring semester. I have really enjoyed applying my knowledge from chemistry coursework to real applications in the lab, as well as having the opportunity to operate in multi-disciplinary research that allows me to incorporate aspects of biology, chemistry, and physics to approach a problem.
