Our mission statement is at the very foundation of everything we do here at Better Birth Project ...to make births “better” by providing information and support in a way that makes the birthing person empowered to confidently make decisions surrounding their own birth experience. Our main goal is to change the face of our birthing and postpartum community in a positive way. Our support here is unconditional, so it’s important to emphasize that a birth that is “better” will be different for everyone. A “better birth” is not unmedicated or with an epidural, or a homebirth or a birth center birth or a hospital birth. It is not a water birth or in a hospital bed. It’s not on your back or on all fours or any of the other multitude of positions you can give birth in. It is not only with a doula or a midwife or an OB. It is not a vaginal birth or a cesarean…A better birth is a person who is INFORMED. A person who is SUPPORTED by a birth team that they trust. A person who is EMPOWERED to confidently make informed decisions surrounding their birth. At Better Birth Project, we offer childbirth education, breastfeeding education, doula services, breastfeeding and postpartum support. Everyone deserves a birth that is better. Every single one of you.
