Helped manage rehearsals, travel plans, competition logistics for four-person color guard within a 65-member marching band. Created routines, along with supplementary reference materials. Maintained constant written communication with guard members and their guardians via email and GroupMe.

I gathered and wrote news for our Morning Edition host to read for broadcast on the National Public Radio-affiliated station, and I have also done similar work for the station's local broadcast for All Things Considered. I operated social media and help update our station website. I also reported and produced audio and web stories. Northern Illinois Radio Information Service caters to those who are visually and physically impaired to read newspapers and other publications on their own. I managed operations on a temporary basis while producing for WNIJ's Morning Edition. I oversaw about 15 volunteers who read those newspapers and publications over the service's sub-frequency radio wave five days per week. I also kept inventory of radios that carry the sub-frequency and assisted in any Rockford-based WNIJ editorial recordings, along with operating broadcast software (AudioVault) and software installation under the direction of station engineers.

I helped manage payroll for and train NIU Recording Services employees, scheduled those employees for any of the 100+ recording events the NIU School of Music has per year, helped maintain contact with those recording clients and assisted in events when necessary. The purpose of this assistantship was to help me pursue my masters education in recording with an emphasis in radio broadcast.

I helped produce and edit audio, video recordings and web streaming for concerts and recitals within the NIU School of Music.I also worked under this title from February 2016 to May 2016.

I helped write news releases, create news media contact databases and helped pitch Chicago Symphony Orchestra pieces to said contacts. I also helped with crowds during concerts every so often.

I designed and proofread pages, assigned stories and wrote articles over the course of my two years at the paper.

My main focus was reporting local news in the McHenry County area for print/web, but occasionally I would help with photo polls or man-on-the-street types of assignments.

I worked long-distance with the editor to write long features that were marching band- or music-focused. I also improved my phone interviewing skills with long-distance sources.
