Coordinate the development and maintenance of information management (IM) and information and communication technology (ICT) policies and practices and assist with the development of IM and ICT business plans, strategies and projects within the Department of Community Safety (DCS). Participate in the development and implementation of sound information management initiatives within the department, including those supporting the seven pillars of the Queensland Government Information Management Strategic Framework of information governance, knowledge management, information asset management, information asset access and use management, recordkeeping, document management and data management and information security. Provide information and training to DCS staff, via appropriate divisional channels, with regards to Queensland Government IM initiatives.Management of the department’s three (3) recordkeeping teams, comprising 15 staff members, located at Kedron, Brisbane City and Wacol. Provide regular communication, support and direction to the teams to achieve business goals and maintain best practice recordkeeping for the department. Conduct regular site visits for team discussions and escalate records issues through appropriate divisional channels as required. Ensure performance management is measured.Lead activities, initiatives and compliance within Records Management ensuring that they are properly managed in alignment with Queensland Government Information Standards and legislation, Queensland State Archives, DCS recordkeeping policies, procedures and guidelines, and the department’s strategic direction resulting in tangible outcomes. Develop, implement, communicate and maintain DCS information management and records management policies and procedures.Participate as an active member of the broader Information and Communication Systems (ICS) Information Management team in the development of information management operational plans, providing direction.
