As an environmental specialist, I served as the permit writer/unit lead for a handful of facilities on the Hanford Site. This involved performing permit application review and permit development to achieve compliance with state and federal regulations. I also performed regulatory review and analysis of proposed permit applications and permits, provided support for new and proposed permit modifications, and provided regulatory and permit writing support to the review and evaluation of the existing and proposed dangerous waste and water permits. I transitioned from unit lead to permit coordinator after 4 years at Ecology. In this role I served as a senior program expert on Dangerous Waste permitting issues for Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) facilities, 242-A Evaporator facility, Liquid Effluent Retention Facility and 200 Area Effluent Treatment Facility, B Plant and Plutonium Uranium Extraction units. I also served as program expert on configuration control of permits for both Rev. 8C and Rev. 9 for the Nuclear Waste Program and was responsible for the oversight of the development and administration of the WTP permit.
