Foundation, Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 Teacher; I was responsible for planning, assessing and teaching across a range of year groups from Nursery through to Year 6 with varying abilities on daily and short term supply. I conducted the full teaching cycle at all times and managed my classroom and staff accordingly. Taking into account the type of classroom I was working in, the support I have, the school ethos and policies.

I have successfully completed a school year (2009/ 2010) working as a Reception Class teacher and Foundation Stage Leader in Germany. My role involved teaching 4-6 year olds the IB Primary Years Programme in conjunction with the EYFS and National Curriculum, which I planned and implemented in Nursery and Reception. Furthermore, my role at the school involved; conducting classroom observations of staff; monitoring classroom planning; work moderation; overseeing national testing arrangements at the start and end of Foundation Stage; analysis of ongoing assessments; feedback on assessment data; leading team meetings; preparation and implementation of action plans; staff induction programmes and staff guidance and support. In addition to this, I continued to organise interactive lessons for my class which catered for all learning styles (VAK) and incorporated short, medium and long term planning. I regularly assessed the children on a weekly (formative) and half termly (summative) basis. The children's mother-tongue was German so consequently the children were EAL learners. Throughout the school year, I managed a different extra curricular activity, each half term, to cater for the children's different needs and interests at the school.

I was responsible for a Year 5 class which consisted of 23 children. I taught all core and foundation subjects, assisted with any projects and after school clubs being run within the school. I also arranged parent interviews and liaised with parents and guardians on a regular basis.Furthermore, I carried out all the main duties of the class teacher such as; assessing children (APP), playground duties and putting on a production for the school Summer Performance.

Gained QTS status and PGCE in Primary Education

I have had the opportunity to work closely with reception and year 4 children. Whilst working in year 4, I acquired my own SEN group in literacy which I work with every day. From working with the group, I learnt how to carry out guided reading and work towards the objectives and targets set by the national curriculum .I also learnt how to help children with special educational needs to access their reading and handwriting skills through visual and interactive activities. Furthermore, I took part in after school activities such as magic shows and church visits.
