Collaborate with outside companies, universities, and government agencies on conservation efforts, obtain permits for specimen collections, obtain grant funding, and create posters for display on conservation, ecosystem services, leave no trace principles, and the wildlife within Wilson Creek. Direct summer interns in their biological surveys of the Wilson Creek area and their individual projects in restoration and preservation of Wilson Creek’s wildlife and natural resources.

Instructed an Introductory Botany course by creating and leading class lectures as well as lab sections to teach necessary material for botanical understanding. Created and conducted review sessions for exams, evaluated and graded classwork and assignments, and worked with students directly to ensure material understanding and success.

Assisted with set-up and field work for project on Red Spruce trees. Utilized previous experience withthe Li-6800 Portable Photosynthesis System to help with field measurements and logistics ofmethodologies. Researched and gained knowledge on the use of the Li-6800, and methodologies forcalculating leaf area in spruce needles.

Built and maintained campus phenology garden and trail in cohorts with two other nearby universities, in which phenological data, tree walks, and forest plots for growth records were built. As part of an NSF grant, students took weekly phenological data on a variety of local plant species throughout the growing season. Communicated and coordinated weekly responsibilities to crew members including forest plot building, phenology data protocols for garden/campus tree walk/forest plots, and garden maintenance.
