Responsible for running the student-run free clinic, The Anne Kastor Brooklyn Free Clinic, at SUNY Downstate every Wednesday from 5-11pm.Coordinate care among an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals (attending physicians, residents, nurses, social workers, administrators and students) to address the medical and psychosocial needs of our patients.Independently follow up with patients who are receiving continuous care at the BFC and coordinate with the Medical Director to make sure all of the needs of every patient is being met.Review all of the laboratory results of the patients and discuss the results with patients as needed.Schedule patients for follow up care.Assist nursing team with lab draws when needed.Support the rest of the clinic board to help them achieve their goals to improve the clinic, educational initiatives, and fundraising efforts. Oversee the finance team, which includes the Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, Pharmacy chair and Chiefs of Quality Improvement, to plan out clinic spending and meetings with our partnered pharmacy – 7 Star.Demonstrated leadership through my involvement in the yearly fundraising event by guiding the younger students through the process of event planning, strategizing ticket sales and advertising, and a venue’s contract process. The event this year was very successful and raised over $9,000 for patient medication.Apply/reapply to grants that help fund our clinic including the Gilead Grant and the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics.

Record the history of present illness, review of systems, past medical history, physical exam, procedures preformed, lab results, EKG results, and radiology results, all into the electronic medical record.Work along side an ER doctor recording charting information and alerting them when results come back.

Intensive research on the disease pathway of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease. Lab tasks include cell culture, western blots, quantitative RT-PCR, RNA and cDNA synthesis, and transfections. Research current literature about ADPKD and write scientific papers on current research.

Volunteer in the NICU, SICU and Emergency Department. Tasks include assisting staff (nurses, EMT's, PCT's etc) as needed, checking patients in, showing patients and family members their rooms, restocking rooms and carts, cleaning and dressing beds, and making lab runs.

Lab duties include sorting organisms (algae, and kelp), stocking samples, and collecting data on pictures of plots. This work leads to determining death rates of corals and algae in Moorea's coral reef.

Worked closely with veterinarians and technical assistants. Restrained dogs and cats for different procedures including ultrasounds, foxtail extractions, ear cleanings and nail trimmings. Spun blood, cleaned surgery equipment, and handed tools to veterinarians during foxtail extractions and dental surgeries. Observed numerous operations.
