Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on surgical and ICU nursing units according to the policies and procedures of St. Alexius while maintaining standards of the State Nurse Practice Act of North Dakota.Educate individual patient and families about specific diseases, medications, post operative limitations and preventative health throughout the hospital stay and and at discharge to promote health.Delegate duties to assistive personnel as allowed under ND Nurse Practice Act; supervisin of LPN's on the work floor.Work with ancillary team and other healthcare professionals to advocate for patient's plan of care during hospital stay and at discharge.

Responsible for all new employee orientation and ongoing education specific to the telemetry unit.Collaborates with nursing and non nursing professionals to provide both didactic and hands on skills opportunities to promote professional growth in the nursing field. Develops orientation program curricula.

Taught Baccalaureate nursing students various nursing-related courses including pathophysiology and medical-surgical nursing.Coached nursing students in classroom and clinical to enhance their passion and understanding of the nursing profession.

Perform a forensic-medical examination of an alleged victim or perpetrator of sexual assault for the purpose of evidence collection, documentation, and preservation of evidence.Independently problem solve and provide education on injury, STI prevention and medications, and follow up care to the adult victims of sexual assault.Work with an interdisciplinary team consiting of law enforcement, victim advocacy, and ND court systems to provide medical expertise and support in a sexual assault case.
