Neuroscience masters graduate interested in working with people with neurological differences. Currently studying art therapy MA at Metafora school of art psychotherapy engaging with my curiosity for the how the process of creating can help those with neurological conditions.Prospering my interest in consciousness research, my undergraduate dissertation investigated the role of Level 5 Pyramidal cells and apical amplification in consciousness. My undergraduate dissertation topic lead me to focus my masters thesis on the mechanisms underlying hallucinations across multiple states of altered consciousness attempting to investigate converging mechanisms between schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body dementia and psychedelics. This gives me a broad neuroscientific knowledge and experience researching various differences of the nervous system.Engaging in my interest in neurological differences, I spent time at the Max Delbrück centre for molecular medicine in Berlin investigating the role of MAP kinases 1 & 2 and their role in autism and effects on behaviour. This was a vital experience in realising how I can better channel my curiosities and drive to help others. I have recently completed a postgraduate diploma in art psychotherapy and community art, with an aim to use art paired with my knowledge and skills learned through the above experiences to work with those with neurological differences to create healing experiences. I am doing this through my current study of Art Psychotherapy at masters level.
