I recently completed my PhD at Leeds Beckett University (formally Leeds Metropolitan University) studying the effectiveness of the Smartphone Couch to 5K (C2-5K) app in increasing physical activity levels. I am particularly interested in understanding how apps can encourage health behaviour change and their potential role in health promotion. I lecture on modules such as Physical Activity Interventions for Adults and Older Adults, Principles and Practice of Physical Activity and Health, Obesity Management, and Research Methods. Prior to beginning work at Leeds Met I worked at Liverpool John Moores University on the GOALS (Getting Our Active Lifestyles Started) project for obese children. My role was Project Coordinator and Physical Activity Specialist.
