Katie was born in Northern Illinois.  In 1989 her parents moved to Missouri, where she began cheerleading which lead to the dance team in high school.  Katie danced in college, but was more focused on getting an education in the  Entertainment Industry.  She graduated from Southwest Missouri State in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Media Film Studies and moved to California in 2001 to pursue a career in film and television. In Nov. 2001, she answered a bookkeeping ad which happened to be at a ballroom dance studio.  After a year of watching others dance Katie started ballroom dancing and the rest is history.  Katie is a Professional Standard Finalist and American Smooth Pro/Am Finalist. She is a Certified Ballroom Dance Instructor and coaches with Dancing with the Star Pro Jonathan Roberts, the current US American Smooth Champions Mazena And Slawek, and 10 time Standard World Champion Heather Smith. Katie has competed in Professional American Smooth and feels blessed to have the opportunity to teach people to dance and pursue dancing as a career.Katie has been training in stand up comedy in Los Angeles since 2010, has studied improv at the World Renowned The Second City Conservatory in Hollywood, has traveled to France to study with the Master of Physical Comedy Theatre Philippe Gaulier and is honored to be a part of the comedy dance trio "High Wasted", which had their own monthly show at The Pack Theater in Hollywood from 2018-2019. Katie is producing "It's Domestic-Katie" on YouTube, which she writes, shoots, stars and edits herself. In addition, she's produces her own ballroom dance instructional videos "katieballroom" on Youtube as well.
