Worked collaboratively with a diverse cohort to ensure public gardens exist for future generations by developing a toolkit for employee development and engaging with national and international horticulture experts.

Responsible for administrative and technical management necessary to accomplish day-to-day operations for the Gardening Division of the Capitol Grounds and Arboretum Jurisdiction for the House of Representatives. Planned operations, work schedules and deadlines for a team of nine. Restored historic landscapes, designed dozens of annual display beds and replaced over 30 garden beds focused on incorporating native and drought tolerant plants across the campus. Lead and designed the installation at the Rayburn Building's Center Courtyard to invite more guests and Congressmen to enjoy a relaxing environment outdoors. Ordered and coordinated the installation of over 20,000 bulbs and annual plants each year. Collaborated, designed and maintained a 15,500 sq. foot green roof for a LEED-certified building. Executed pesticide spray schedules and assisted with the implementation of an insect and disease control program. Operated trucks, forklifts, tractors, mowers and power equipment to accomplish daily tasks. Coordinated snow removal and preventative ice treatments. Supported the team's needs and offered resources to ameliorate individual and group issues.

Enhanced the functionality and cohesion of a sustainable landscaping company's warehouse and plant nursery in Southern Florida. Specifically worked with landscape design, xeriscaping, plant installations, container plant design, vermiculture, Florida-friendly plants, butterfly and rain gardens, native plant selections, green wall design and maintenance, development of organic fertilizers, seed collection, costumer relations and overall organization of the company and its employees.

Panama

Worked to broaden a small community’s economic opportunities by teaching weekly cooking classes. Collaborated with Ultimate Without Borders to bring leadership skills and health awareness to the youth in Panama. Created a series of Peace Corps inspired world map projects with geography lesson plans for each grade school. Began a baking group with the youth and adults of the community to sell baked goods in a larger town to teach basic economic concepts. Taught cooking classes and how to make recycled jewelry to larger towns and communities in Azuero peninsula.

Implemented various environmental conservation and economic based projects such recycling and the construction of a recycling center made of plastic bottles. Assisted in community tree nursery and reforestation and created home and school gardens and seed trading with the community. Completed a sustainable recipe book in Spanish to better community members' diets and as a guide for cooking classes. Also, development of organic school and home gardens and taught English and science classes. Constructed home raised tilapia fish farm systems. Also was a Seeder's Representative for one year collecting seeds and redistributing them around Panama.
