About Katie Spreadbury

So, you've done the courses, worked with the coaches, and are doing all the "right" things...but still aren't making the level of sales you want?Believe me I know how frustrating that can be! You don't want to resort to pushy, sleazy or...shall we say "questionable" marketing tactics - you know, the ones that make you a bit sick in the back of your mouth and make you hesitant to share your goodness with the world. But you're starting to wonder whether the ethical approach ACTUALLY works...I have good news. If you put people - specifically your ideal client - at the heart of your business, you do not need to resort to using pressure tactics in your marketing, or anything that makes you feel uncomfortable (I love this quote from Tad Hargrave of Marketing for Hippies: “Maybe you don’t have a limiting belief. Maybe you have a conscience”).Instead, once you understand what is going on for someone and how to communicate and connect with them, meeting them where they are at and sharing content that demonstrates how well you understand them, you can market in a way that suits you and that actually makes you feel good. I use my 20+ years’ experience of understanding what makes people tick, through my market research career and psychology/behavioural sciences background to help you cultivate a deep understanding of your ideal clients and apply that to the way you show up and serve them - creating offers people WANT to buy, and marketing content they want to engage with and receive.I work closely with my clients on a one-to-one basis, and I LOVE getting stuck into your business and what makes you and your own ideal clients tick. I am "hands on" - I'm not expecting you to do all the work - think of me as a partner (definitely not a "coach"!). 👉 If you've been struggling for a while and are wondering if the problem is actually that your offer isn't strong enough, you can book an Offer Optimiser Audit for just £99 - DM me "OPTIMISER" and I'll share the deets.👉 If you know your offer needs a bit of a makeover, or you want to launch a new one (one that people actually want to buy) DM me "OFFER" and I'll respond asap (no pressure selling I promise! That's totally not me.)And if you're not ready to invest but want to learn more, I host "The Upside-Up Marketing podcast on YouTube and all good podcast distributers, or join my email list using the link above.

Marketing And Research Specialist And Messaging Mentor And Ideal Client Expert

Marketing And Research Specialist / Messaging Mentor And Ideal Client Expert

London, United Kingdom

I have two roles as founder of OrangeSheep Research: 1) I support online business owners and solopreneurs to understand their ideal clients with solid research-based solutions, then to use the information gleaned to create offers that are so good they (pretty much) sell themselves. 2) I support market research agencies and client-side teams who are stretched beyond their capacity with Senior-Level support so you can meet your project deadlines and client's needs. My experience covers a wide range of sectors and methodologies, and my particular specialist skills are in public sector, business research, employee surveys and large-scale quant or mixed-mode studies.

Messaging Mentor

As an Associate Coach in The Altitude Experience I help our clients go really deep with understanding their own ideal clients, and shape the messaging around their offers to attract more of the right people.

Project Manager To Associate Director

London, United Kingdom

I joined IFF in 2007 and worked my way up to Associate Director. I was responsible for writing proposals and pitching for work, as well as being ultimately responsible for the running of the project including being "hands on" in all aspects of research design and reporting. I also spent two years in the "Team Leader" role, which involved resource management of a team of 20, recruitment of junior researchers and responsibility for designing and implementing the research team's training programme. Some examples of projects I was involved in at IFF include:UK Employer Skills Survey (2011, 2013, 2015) for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES): we believe this to be the largest survey of employers in the UK with 91,000 quantitative telephone interviews with employers. The survey was too large for any one agency so it involved up to three additional fieldwork partners each year, complicating the logistics still further. The survey sought detailed information on the recruitment and training of staff, and their current skills levels, to identify skills gaps in the current workforce and in the labour market (through the identification of vacancies that were hard to fill due to skill shortages among applicants). Employment Tribunal Award Payment for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) (2013): Quantitative telephone interviews with 1200 claimants who had been successful at an Employment Tribunal to investigate their experiences and whether they received their award.ICAEW (2014): qualitative research with students and employers evaluating the effectiveness of a proposed advertising campaign. Interviews were carried out via telephone, with advertising concepts presented to participants via the internet.National Apprenticeship Service (2011): Evaluation of online vacancy system: learners, employers and providers surveyed primarily via an online quantitative survey but including qualitative case studies and secondary data analysis.

Aug 2007 - Mar 2016

(Senior) Research Executive

Ealing, London, United Kingdom

I joined BMRB as a graduate in the Stakeholder Solutions department. Here I specialised in customer and employee satisfaction/loyalty surveys. Key clients during this period include:- Bank of England: I was involved in running their online employee survey - Compass Group: the UK's sixth largest employer; ran employee surveys for various companies in the group including RailGourmet and SSC; mostly postal surveys.- Norwich Union/Aviva: I ran NU's Customer Experience Tracker from 2005 to 2007, which involved a wave of (telephone) interviews each month with customers who had called their call centres.
