I am the Program Specialist with the Powerful Tools for Caregivers evidence-based program. This global program is housed at Iowa State University, with the Human Sciences Extension and Outreach office. More coming soon!

I currently serve as a coach for the NeverTechLate (NTL) core program. This course is currently eight lessons, introducing the use of a tablet for lifelong learners, including how to use email, video conferencing, stay safe online, and explore the digital world. There is more in the works with NTL, but I am elated to be a part of this team and cannot wait.

This is the same role that I held at Iowa State University as a Research Scientist and Project Manager with the Siblings Caring for Parents with Dementia NIA-funded study. The project Primary Investigator moved institutions and I was asked to come along and continue my work on this grant-funded project.

I am a research scientist with the Siblings Caring for Parents with Dementia study, with Dr. Megan Gilligan serving as the project's PI. This is full time role where I manage the project. This is in the form of conducting long-form qualitative interviews with sibling dyads, storage of biological samples, entering quantitative data received from.

I worked with the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) as their communications specialist. CELT directly reports to the Senior Vice President and Provost at Iowa State University. I managed all web content (content creation, design, coding, redesign, management, upkeep - you name it, I do it), social media, created/updated/maintained.

I worked on the communications side of things in the School of Education at ISU. I was solely responsible for: web development and maintenance for the School (including the School at-large and smaller programs within the School), social media management (Facebook and Twitter), and all marketing materials for the School as an entire entity, its individual.

I was responsible for the creation and editing for NAMI Central Iowa location. The newsletter is presented in different formats: online via the NAMI Central Iowa website, printed mail copy, and via email.

I worked with a large group of students (almost 200) and guided them through any questions or concerns they had, both in and out of the classroom. I was also responsible for grading all assignments and providing feedback to help students improve to the best of their ability.

I worked on the Parents team, while producing the eNewsletters for Living the Country Life, Traditional Home, Wood Magazine, Midwest Living and Ladies Home Journal.I also monitored and work with the social media for the Parents brand, including writing posts, engaging with the audience and other general customer service responsibilities.

I was the EIC of the weekly publication of The Simpsonian. Under my management and with the help of a great staff, redesigned the paper and got our readers back, along with having an excess of advertisement. The editorial staff won a state award in regards to the leadership skills of the editorial team.

I worked on the Simpson College website for Career Services. I also worked on the Facebook and Twitter feed for Career Services. Outside of that, I met with students and critiqued their resumes and cover letters. I did internship exit interviews, and helped students try to figure out what they want to do with their lives.

I was a "Destination Leader" for Brian Steffen's Journalism & Democracy class. The course is designed for incoming freshmen and I worked with these freshmen one-on-one to give them an idea of everything Simpson has to offer, and how to learn in a college classroom.

I managed the news beat for The Simpsonian. I pitched story ideas, assigned the stories, worked closely with my writers, and edited their stories. I was also the Copy editor for The Simp. I reviewed all of the pages, helped write headlines and captions, and basically did whatever the editor-in-chief needs me to do.
