I teach academic English courses that support the upward mobility of Philadelphia's culturally and linguistically diverse adult learners via language development and college readiness training.

At language connectED, we serve individuals in developing strategic communication skills for professional scenarios from cover letters to conference presentations, networking, performance appraisals, press briefings, and more. As Director of Curriculum Development, I conduct needs analysis, develop and continuously improve curriculum and materials, and deliver customized training and personalized coaching. We work with professionals, academics, and institutions representing diverse fields. A large portion of our work is with international biomedical postdocs (we have trained over 1000) who want to achieve greater engagement and impact and expand access to their research through science outreach communication. Clients have included Penn Medicine, CHOP, the Wistar Institute, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Penn's Weitzman School of Design, and UC Berkeley among others.

With a focus on launching new custom programs for university and corporate clients, I developed, managed, and taught in short-term programs offered by Penn’s English Language Programs and College of Liberal & Professional Studies. Clients included Toyota Motor Corp, the Warrior Scholar Project, Shanghai University of Finance & Economics, Dom Helder Escola de Dereche, and more. Programs included:- business English programs for mid-career executives and entry-level employees- pre-term programs for incoming LLM and MBA students- communications workshops for Penn Dental students- study abroad programs for visiting international undergrads interested in experiencing life at a US university

The Office of English Language Programs designs and manages programs to promote the teaching and learning of English internationally. As a Materials Writer/Editor, I developed and consulted on English teaching and learning resources for use in programs administered by American embassies and consulates, and implemented online teacher training programs for English language educators worldwide.

After joining the English Language Programs as a part-time lecturer in March 2007, I became a full-time Language Specialist in June 2008. I taught general and skills-based courses to diverse student groups with beginning to advanced proficiency in English and various personal, academic, and/or professional goals. I designed programmatic curricula and assessments for teaching pronunciation and standardized test preparation.

At this private grade school for boys, I taught multilevel general English courses to over 400 seventh-grade Thai students. Class sizes averaged around 60.
