Hey there, I'm Katie! I'm a communication professional who's passionate about helping others gain knowledge and cultivate the skills necessary to best understand, assess, and navigate organizational contexts in order to thrive in the workplace. I'm currently a Communication Studies instructor at Moorpark College and working towards becoming a L&D professional in the corporate sector. My focus while working with college students is to implement current instructional design methodologies in order to build interactive course curriculum which further develops their oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, and critical thinking skills. However, my passion for helping others doesn't stop with just the adults. Over the last 10 years I have worked to foster positive learning environments in contexts ranging from summer camps to middle and high school speech teams. So often I see children and young adults wanting to make a difference in their community, but do not know how to become involved in a way they feel makes a difference. I firmly believe that empowering younger generations with the skills to articulate and initiate their ideas only serves to benefit themselves and their communities in the long run.
