My current film, Small Town Universe, paints an intimate portrait of life in Green Bank, West Virginia, home to the world's most sensitive radio telescope and the only U.S. town where Wi-Fi and cell phones are banned. In this radio-quiet community, scientists search for signs of extraterrestrial life while residents share everyday moments of joy and loss. I directed a branded film for Whirlpool called “Sama’s Lunchbox” showing how a Syrian family living far from home uses food to connect with their loved ones.

I directed the short film "Labor of Love" as part of "New Orleans, Here and Now", a Time Inc. anthology commemorating the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. "Labor of Love" It tells the story Vietnamese-American family and their beloved restaurant that helped lift up a community.

My first feature documentary, Brooklyn Castle, tells the exhilarating and inspiring story of the nation's best public school chess team, I.S. 318, in Brooklyn, NY. The film won the Audience Award at SXSW, was distributed in theaters, was nationally broadcast on PBS's P.O.V series, and received both Emmy and NAACP Image Award Nominations. Back before we were all online, all the time, I made this documentary for A&E that explored the new threats young people were facing on emerging social media and chat platforms. Your Life Online was Emmy nominated for Outstanding Single Camera Editing.
