I entered university immediately after completing my A-Levels in English Language, Music, 16th Century History and Performing Arts. I attended Newman University College, undertaking a 3-year teacher training programme, specialising in English, particularly Children's Literature. I have always had an interest in children's literature and child language acquisition.I obtained my first teaching post in 2012, starting my career as a Year 6 teacher, remaining in this position for three years until moving to Year 3 where I have remained since. In 2013 I became Music Lead and in 2017 I began work as the Key Stage 2 Co-Ordinator. As of 2020, the school has now increased to become a full two-form entry site. Since our expansion, my responsibility has developed to focus more particularly on managing the performance of all staff in Lower Key Stage 2. I have recently been pleased to accept a role within the school to lead a working party in driving awareness and support for Mental Health within our whole school community.
