I work closely with clients to identify what they need to communicate their message to their target audience. This includes:- developing a digital marketing strategy that covers competitor research, site audit, editorial direction and content calendar, and all appropriate marketing channels- keyword research and analysis of current content performance to influence content marketing strategy and on-page SEO- Information Architecture - based on user journeys, keyword and sector research, and interviews with the client team- tone of voice workshops and recommendations to influence content and social media strategy- ongoing social media management and support - identifying influencers, analysing the performance of social media posts, recommending tools- liaising with our digital advertising team to integrate their findings into social and content strategy- delivering monthly digital marketing reports with insights into each area we cover for the client and recommended next steps - producing bespoke reports on specialist areas such as YouTube video optimisation or how to increase digital brand awarenessIt is a varied and fulfilling role and I relish the opportunity to work with clients from a wide range of sectors, including charities and employee-owned businesses. I created Ethical Weddings in 2006, following my own wedding in 2005, as an online wedding magazine and planning resource to help couples plan the wedding or civil partnership of their dreams without compromising their values. My concept for the website was as a meeting place for couples, suppliers and experts to exchange ideas, give advice and encouragement, while the Ethical Weddings directory would bring together wedding suppliers who are striving to make a difference to our world, both socially and environmentally.Running Ethical Weddings developed my online skills immeasurably and set me on the path I am on today. It gave me my first taste of online community building - which enjoyed considerable success: 'our' brides and grooms were happy to speak on behalf of Ethical Weddings to the press, including an interview on Radio 4. It also allowed me to develop my own relationships with the press, and I gave many interviews with offline and online media, radio and television. One of the most important opportunities it opened up to me, however, was that of blogging. I had never blogged before Ethical Weddings and the experience helped me to hone my writing skills while finding new friends in the green, fair trade and wedding blogospheres.
