I was inspired to run for public office by the divisive 2016 election. There is too much partisan fighting going on to get anything done. As a professional partnership specialist, helping companies and governments work more effectively together and build public-private partnerships I will build bridges across the aisle in Annapolis.

Provide high-level brokering support for multi-sector collaboration and partnerships for sustainable development. This includes facilitation of meetings and group processes, development of opportunities for win-win-win collaboration, support of partnering agreements, capacity building, and identification of strategic interests, resources, risks and challenges.

I led SustainAbility's Accountability pillar, working with companies on transparency, reporting and stakeholder engagement to drive trust and credibility. I have worked with a wide variety of clients to help them understand corporate accountability and sustainability and integrate it into their strategy and operations, including: Nike, Starbucks, Ford, Novartis, Abbott, McDonalds and the World Bank. I have authored or co-author several published articles and reports, including The 21st Century NGO, Tomorrow’s Value and The Road to Credibility. I have recently returned from sabbatical in South Africa, where I supported Ford’s Megacity Mobility work in Cape Town and investigated the informal economy.

For several years, I led SustainAbility’s Engaging Stakeholders Program, a unique international membership forum where businesses develop and drive best practice in sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement. Areas of focus included: materiality and issue prioritization, the ‘nuts and bolts’ of reporting, innovation in stakeholder engagement, local and regional reporting, and integrating sustainability messages into mainstream communication channels.I managed SustainAbility’s work with Nike, including contributions to Nike’s stakeholder engagement strategy, the development of a stakeholder Trust Meter, a Stakeholder Priority Sketch, and Nike’s first stakeholder Report Review Committee. Prior to joining SustainAbility, I worked for Arthur D. Little (ADL), consulting in technology innovation and advanced energy systems.
