Hello! I am happy to connect with you! I am a human resource and workforce professional located in Kansas. My expertise is in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)/American Job Center operations. My career with the Workforce Development system progressed from contracted Youth Case Manager to executive leadership roles in workforce center operations. I currently work for Southeast KANSASWORKS, Inc. as the Assistant Executive Director. I am certified as a Human Resource Professional through HRCI and SHRM.I have been with Southeast KANSASWORKS since July 2020 prior to moving into this position I worked as a consultant and researcher for Wichita State University's Public Policy and Management Center focusing on Workforce Development and Human Resource projects. I also have owned my own consulting business, the Givens Partnership Group. I have 20 years of non-profit experience, of which 16 years have focused on workforce development. Other experience includes mental health services, foster care/transitional services, special education, and youth services. Over the years I have been able to work on many rewarding projects; some highlights include: developing functional leadership, being part of a team that relocated four workforce centers; many career pathway projects; leading the transition from Workforce Investment Act to WIOA; providing technical assistance consultation to the US Department of Labor on Registered Apprenticeship Programs; and serving on many boards such as Dress for Success, Wichita SHRM, and the Wichita Indochinese Center.... However, the MOST rewarding has been to work with many people who are dedicated to public service in our community.
