As the Senior Associate of Marketing and Communications at the Community Foundation of Louisville (CFL) I work to increase brand awareness through digital content creation. I manage the company's website, social media platforms, and manage all marketing requests. Additionally, I create and distribute the monthly digital newsletter to nearly 10,000 subscribers. One of the main initiatives I have the privilege of working on is Give for Good Louisville. This collaborative effort allows me to work cross-departmentally on social and digital strategies for the Foundation's giving day.

I briefly worked as a Audio operator/ Camera and Floor Director at WLKY in Louisville, KY. I enjoyed working here but I found that it was not the job I wanted to pursue as a career due to harsh hours and lack of interest in the field. While I was there, I learned about communicating and collaborating with others in completely different departments. As a floor director, I spoke with news anchors and weather professionals about their placement on set before and during the news. As a Floor Director, my job was to give cues, count down until each live shot, and communicate any changes to the individual on camera throughout the news. While I was in the studio as a Floor Director, I was also a Camera Director. My duties here included moving camera shots during live news, adjusting camera shots to guests/props, and adjusting focus/zoom for each new shot. As an Audio Operator I maintained microphone usage & connection and allowed for every sound heard on live TV. Finally, I collaborated with the production team for every hour of news and learned a lot about team work and clear communication at 5:00 AM. I had a great experience working here that I will take with me as I pursue my career.

As head lifeguard my job was to manage the pool area. I managed the pool chemicals by checking the pH every few hours and by adding chlorine once a day. I vacuumed the pool, washed off the deck, and straightened up the surrounding area daily. By asking members to sign in before they were allowed to enter gave me the opportunity to get to know my customers. Often times there would be situations where I was required to address behavior. During my time working as head lifeguard I was CPR and first aid certified. I also had my life guarding license.

As a lifeguard at the SW YMCA my job was to watch the pool in four hour intervals. I was required to check the chemicals in the pool once during a shift. . While closing the pool I washed off the deck, straightened up chairs, put away swimming tools, cleaned the sauna, and pulled the lap lanes out of the water. Often times I would shock the pool while closing. Many times I had to settle disputes between members. I also taught swim lessons to ages six months to adults. I would create lessons for my participants and be in the water with them as I taught. The main objective was to improve swim ability. Many times I would teach swim strokes to adults, sings songs for babies, and play games with teenagers in order to engage the swimmers.
