After working as the Production Manager for a year, I was given a lateral promotion to the Account Service Coordinator while still maintaining all of my former responsibilities. Public Relations And Media Director
The Jesse M. Woodyard Committee (JMW) is comprised of a group of students at Florida Gulf Coast University who volunteer their time and efforts in memory of fallen eagle and friend, Jesse M. Woodyard. When Jesse passed away in the spring of 2014, the JMW Committee was formed to organize the Fallen Eagle Redfish Classic, the largest fishing tournament in Southwest Florida, which is held annually to raise funds for the Jesse M. Woodyard Endowed Foundation Scholarship at Florida Gulf Coast University. The Woodyard family picks the recipient of the scholarship each Fall. In 2014 the JMW Committee was able to raise $4,000 from the Fallen Eagle Redfish Classic to cover the funeral costs for Jesse's family. At the tournament in 2015, which was held at Nervous Nellie's on Fort Myers Beach, $14k was raised in which endowed the Jesse M. Woodyard Foundation Scholarship. My position in the JMW Committee allowed me to write and distribute press releases to the local media, work as the media contact for the Fallen Eagle Redfish Classic, speak on radio talk shows, completely design and print graphics, logos, and flyers and work with the rest of the JMW Committee on organizing and executing the Fallen Eagle Redfish Classic.
