Founded at their mum’s kitchen table, Katie and her sister Fiona Edwards, set-up on a mission to put the care back into healthcare communications. They make complex information meaningful, accessible and useful for all. As a creative agency, specialising in strategy and content, Skin and Blister works tirelessly for the benefit of humans, animals and the future of medicine. Fun fact, Skin and blister is cockney rhyming slang for sister.Highly ambitious, Katie strives to leave things better than she finds them. Having experienced her own health setbacks, she feels particularly inspired to help those facing challenging diagnoses. Her wish is that no person suffers because they don’t understand their health choices. Bad healthcare communications make her angry. Throughout her career, Katie developed the skills to set up an agency as a healthcare copywriter, winning multiple creative awards within pharmaceutical marketing. A first-class Biomedical Science graduate, Katie has worked in healthcare her entire career and has a life-long understanding of medicine, having grown up in an NHS family.With her ‘let’s do this’ and ‘never settle’ attitude, Katie has grown business revenue and team. A proud member of several juries, Katie's big pharma clients include AstraZeneca, Chugai, Idorsia, Takeda and MSD, with Skin and Blister featured on the Roche website as a sustainable partner. An up-and-coming speaker, Katie's talk topics include generative AI, using rebellion for good, leading with purpose and authenticity, creativity in pharma, turning generics into brands and virtual culture.Katie is passionate about inspiring others to start their own businesses, work in STEM and fit work around their lives. Furthermore, she has always believed that working without a fixed office is the future. Based in London, Katie is an explorer of inspirational spaces, on land and sea. An avid swimmer and scuba diver, Katie is happiest underwater.
