In 2006 I left my glamorous life as a model behind and embarked on a life-changing adventure to become the first person in history to walk, unsupported, the entire length of the Great Wall of China (4500km) from its most Western terminus to its Eastern. From this point on I was hooked on adventure! In the past 15 years, I have gained a wealth of experience in both organising expeditions for others to some of the remotest corners of the earth, as well my own, including a number of world firsts. I have personally completed over 25,000km of unsupported human-powered expeditions, as well as over 500 nights wild camping. From the Sahara Desert to the Arctic Ocean, the Himalayas to the Andes and many places in between.My expedition experience includes; completing the longest ever crossing by a woman of the Southern Patagonian Ice Cap. A solo unsupported traverse of Iceland, crossing the worlds largest lava desert. Cycling the 1911 original Tour de France route unsupported, 5,439km, in 23 days, the duration the professional cyclists take to ride today’s current Tour that is 2000km shorter. 1 of just 29 finishers from the 98 starters to complete the inaugural Silk Road Mountain Race in Kyrgyzstan. I aim to encourage others to take a leap into Theadore Roservelt’s famous ‘arena’, unknowing of the outcome, get comfortable with being uncomfortable, and to not loose hope and motivation when things get tough. I would like to think, that just on meeting me and hearing my story, people could quickly see I am not your ’typical adventurer’. Unlike many people in the world of adventure, I’m not very brave, nor an adrenaline junkie or a daredevil, I’m just a normal girl, who loves pretty dresses, pink painted nails and lying on the sofa watching Strictly come dancing, with a mug of tea and a packet of RichTea biscuits. I therefore believe I am the epitome of ‘if I can do it, you can do it’. Ordinary people can do extraordinary things if we can just be bold enough to begin.

I work as the resort manager during the 8 week residential autumn ski instructor course in Tignes, France. Managing 20 students for the 8 week duration, ranging in age from 18 - 60 yrs.For the rest of year, my role is managing the website, marketing, finances and general administration for the business on a freelance basis.
