Vice PresidentJeffrey Byrne + Associates, Inc. Nov 2015 - Aug 2019Kansas City, Missouri, UsWith my promotion to Vice President came the opportunity to work directly with a wide range of clients, including Executive Directors, Development Directors, Board Presidents, Corporate Leaders, and Funders. My work in this new role at Jeffrey Byrne focuses on a few key areas.RESOURCE PARTNERSHIP: To identify needs and encourage growth, I create nonprofit resource development plans. I also plan and conduct feasibility studies to assess how receptive communities will be to campaigns to increase major gift donations, endowments, and capital. When organizations are ready to seek additional funding, I help them develop unique grant-management plans and use relevant case studies to plot the path toward success. RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING: I hold trainings and workshops for nonprofit leaders, boards, and staff about best practices and the “art of the ask.” Once we set a goal, I identify the relationships that organizations need to build within the foundation and nonprofit community to move their projects forward.CAMPAIGN CONSULTATION: I use research into public, private, and individual funding sources to conduct fundraising campaigns for my clients. My record of success for clients at Jeffrey Byrne includes managing campaigns ranging in size from $500,000 to $10 million. CONFERENCE TRAINING & SPEAKING: Along with holding workshops and training sessions, I've been a speaker at several conferences as a subject matter expert. The topics have included building integrated fundraising campaigns, writing resource development plans and donor cultivation and retention. Attendees left with innovative items and best practices that they could immediately implement in their organization. -
Senior Fundraising ConsultantJeffrey Byrne + Associates, Inc. Nov 2015 - Sep 2016Kansas City, Missouri, UsAfter building my skills with special events and corporate fundraising, I was delighted to have the opportunity to focus on more donor-centered practices through the development of sustainable fundraising programs. I conducted client workshops about fundraising best practices and comprehensive development programs and consulted with clients to develop new major-gift programs. One of the highlights of my work as a Senior Consultant was my six-month assignment as the interim Vice President of Development for a campaign client that was in the middle of a substantial organizational transition. During that time, I helped the client increase their operational support through a capital campaign, creating a stronger platform from which the organization could operate. -

Development ManagerMake A Wish Foundation Missouri Apr 2014 - Nov 2015The Make A Wish Foundation gave me the opportunity to have more autonomy in facilitating two of Kansas City’s largest fundraising events—Walk for Wishes and the Night of Wishes gala. As part of my regular duties, I was in charge of corporate relationship development and sponsorships, cultivating new support, and increasing fundraising. Thanks to the new relationships and existing sponsorships that I developed with community leaders, our revenue for Walk for Wishes increased. This took Kansas City’s Walk from the 10th to the 5th largest walk in the country, an effort for which we received the National Events & Brand Campaigns Innovations Award. In addition, we increased revenue for Night of Wishes through the addition of a second presenting sponsorship.
