  • Schemata Workshop
    Architectural Designer
    Schemata Workshop Apr 2022 - Sep 2022
    Seattle, Washington, United States
  • Bellevue College
    Design Assistant
    Bellevue College Oct 2019 - Mar 2021
    Bellevue, Wa
In this role, I assisted in a variety of campus facility interior design projects. I performed field measurements and space analysis of interior spaces, created architectural drawings and schematic designs, created environmental graphics, performed product research, and coordinateed with vendors and consultants. In performing the above tasks, I was able to use my skills in AutoCAD and SketchUp, along with the Adobe Creative Suite and the full suite of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bellevue College
    Resource Library Assistant
    Bellevue College Sep 2017 - Oct 2019
    Bellevue, Wa
In this part-time position, I helped to maintain the Bellevue College Interior Design department materials/resource library, sorting incoming donations and curating samples and reference materials. I also assisted students in selecting appropriate sample materials for design projects.
  • Microsoft
    Project Manager (Via Aquent)
    Microsoft Dec 2015 - Mar 2016
    Redmond, Wa
Under a short-term contract, I was a project manager for the Content Engineering group within Microsoft Content Services & International. This position entailed using a variety of software tools (e.g., Team Foundation Server, DxStudio), with which I handled requests from myriad internal clients for the editing and publishing of Microsoft PowerShell Help documentation. I completed thorough process documentation that included key executive-level Visio diagrams, and I also created detailed process documentation for publishing content to GitHub (an online open-source software repository).
  • Microsoft
Content Strategy Project Manager (Via Filter Digital)
    Microsoft Mar 2015 - Jul 2015
    Redmond, Wa
In this contract position for Office 365 Corporate Sales & Marketing, I was intimately involved in helping to shape the team's content strategy for FY16. My contributions included an extensive audit of 1,000+ digital assets (such as case studies, white papers, webcasts, and ebooks), and an exhaustive review and analysis of hundreds of transcripts from conversations between customers and Microsoft sales reps. I created detailed reporting (including dozens of charts) on the findings of both of these efforts, providing key data and insights for executive-level review. Additionally, I developed a proposed framework and submission process for a new digital asset management system, including SEO and other essential metadata requirements that would facilitate metrics-gathering. This position was an excellent opportunity to put my organizational and analytical skills to work in a way that had an immediate and direct impact.
  • Microsoft
Content Manager And Editor (Via Filter Digital)
    Microsoft Aug 2012 - Mar 2015
    Redmond, Wa
Here I was responsible for all aspects of editing and publishing a variety of content for Microsoft’s Game Developer Network, its dedicated website for developers and publishers of Xbox games and apps. Most publishing was done using native SharePoint functionality, like web parts, lists, and libraries, although there was a fair amount of HTML, too. I coordinated with internal customers to ensure that the site was user-friendly, and that the content was easily accessible, discoverable, and could be reported on. From an editorial standpoint, my focus was on enhancing the content's clarity, readability, and adherence to established style guidelines. The content I was involved in ranged from technical white papers, presentations, and blog entries to web page copy, publisher guides, and newsletter articles. Although the developer documentation and code samples published to the site were largely outside the scope of my responsibilities, I worked closely with the team members who created and published those materials to ensure consistency and link integrity. There were myriad content contributors, owners, and stakeholders involved with this site. Consequently, my role naturally included communication and collaboration with individuals across many levels of the organization. This was an especially enjoyable part of the job, because it gave me the opportunity to establish relationships with many people--and to become a trusted resource for the team and beyond.
  • Essential Learning
    Content Editor
    Essential Learning 2011 - 2012
As part of a 4-person team, I provided content editing and project management for a variety of e-learning courses targeted to the continuing education needs of mental health professionals, covering topics ranging from highly specialized content (e.g., psychopharmacology, treatment of PTSD) to compliance-related content (e.g., fire safety). Our team was tight, dedicated, and focused; the content was fascinating; the authors were leaders in their fields; and it was exciting to work with such bright, passionate, consummate professionals.
  • Freelance
    Writer/Editor
    Freelance 2007 - 2012
    Boulder, Co
As a freelancer I provided all levels of editing, from proofreading to straightforward copyediting to reorganizing and rewriting content. Client projects were in areas ranging from high-tech B2B marketing communications and web content to consumer products, professional/legal services and e-learning course content. Adept in industry-standard style guides, with emphasis on the Chicago Manual of Style and the Associated Press Stylebook.
