Jews for a Secular Democracy is a pluralistic initiative to counter the influence of religion on government by galvanizing the Jewish community to defend the constitutional separation of church and state. JFASD provides a uniquely Jewish perspective on religion-state separation by drawing on Jewish teachings, history and experience. We fight for issues intertwined with religious freedom such as reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ equality, public school funding and support, and so much more.

Michigan Senate District 12

As Chief of Staff for Senator Bayer, I worked closely and in conjunction with Senator Bayer and Democratic Caucus staff. I advised the Senator on current issues, legislation, communications strategy and constituent services and outreach. After election and prior to taking office, I worked with the Senator to formulate an overall strategic plan and 4-year office goals. After taking office, I worked with the Senator to develop and continually refine strategic and tactical review systems to prioritize and streamline potential legislative and policy initiatives. Working with the Senator and the Caucus Communications team, I developed and continually reviewed and implemented overall communications plan and strategy. I problem-solved and triaged daily tactical policy, communications, legislative and constituent concerns. I oversaw office management, staff and budget. I facilitated external organization, stakeholder, constituent and advocacy group relations by creating and maintaining open lines of communication and finding pathways to advancing collaboration. Worked with the Senator on developing and implementing re-election plans and fundraising.

Berkley, Michigan

Created mission-driven eco-conscious lifestyle boutique centered around health and environmental education and advocacy. Designed business plan and provided leadership in directing and integrating strategic plans for business goals and initiatives. Developed key relationships with other business owners, local Chamber of Commerce, DDA, local elected officials and other stakeholders to develop and implement special projects and events. Managed all facets of business including finance, strategic and tactical planning, sales, display, marketing, communications and public relations, human resources and customer service.

Southfield, Michigan

Ran for office to represent the people, families and communities of Southfield, Lathrup Village, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin. Recruited, trained and managed paid staff, consultants, interns and over 50 volunteers. Collaborated with Campaign Manager to develop and implement strategic campaign plan including communications strategy, voter outreach initiatives, canvassing, fundraising and GOTV plans. Endorsed by Everytown for Gun Safety and the Progressive Caucus of the Michigan Democratic Party. Received Planning Parenthood Favorable Candidate designation and Moms Demand Action Candidate of Distinction. Strengthened knowledge base and diversified skillset by engaging in multiple candidate training programs including the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) 4-day boot camp. Fundraised more money than all other candidates in race. Finished 2nd in field of 6.

Health Quest Enterprises (1994- 2012) and KLR Consulting (2016-2018) specialized in providing Employee Health and Wellness Program Consulting services to small companies and municipalities. Our Employee Wellness Programs were designed to address modifiable health risk factors and increase employee knowledge about non-modifiable risk factors, consequently reducing overall employee health risks, increasing employee productivity, increasing employee morale and saving money. Fostered positive relationships with other program providers and nonprofit organizations to provide clients with additional resources. Worked collaboratively with EAP services, corporate safety programs and health insurance plans. Worked with clients in drafting, implementing and reviewing wellness program strategic plans and goals.

Wrote, directed and produced various marketing, informational and training videos for companies in Michigan. Worked with clients to design marketing, public relations and advertising programs to fit their needs.
