Firstly, we deliver research projects to help clients roadmap the most sustainable packaging solutions for their business both now and in the future. We scour the market to source the best available suppliers to deliver the clients packaging. Secondly we deliver innovation projects built on our deep knowledge of packaging technologies (specialising in all forms of packaging) that enable us to provide manufacturable solutions. Finally we support packaging inventors to refine their work in several ways including guiding on market entry strategy, manufacturability, and technical design improvement.

Delivered an in depth report to identify the most sustainable packaging solutions for Made for Drink, both today and in the future.The report analyses the positions of major retailers in the UK, significant voices in the charitable sector, UK government and the recycling industry. This is dovetailed with research into current and future packaging options, how well they fundamentally protect the product, and how well they perform in the filling environment and supply chain.

Working with business leadership teams in each of our global business units to support and facilitate NPD strategy. Additional responsibilities included:• Develop the product lifecycle strategies for core technologies and facilitate the lifecycle management of key global products • Translate the product strategy and market insights into material that can be used with suppliers to provide a ‘line of sight’ to Crown needs and to direct their R&D efforts

Leading a team of 5 product designers we worked with global customers to deliver industry leading innovation. Key responsibilities included:• Managing around 60 innovation projects a year around the world as well as several service support activities & budgets covering 5 key product portfolios

In this central role the key activity was to ensure the progression and launch of new products. Liaison with stake holders ensured Crowns’ beverage division were developing products to engage consumers and future proof the organization. Responsibilities included:• Present innovation portfolio externally, gain project briefs from customers and prospects, work with research and development and Innovation teams to generate relevant, commercially viable ideas, present ideas and use stage gate process to select ideas to progress• Liaise with internal stakeholders throughout the development process to ensure buy in, engage in technical input, progress developments, revise budgets, estimate cost price to inform sales price

Identified the need for and created this role in response for the need to market Crowns’ technological capabilities through its global business units. Projects were delivered through the most appropriate media including personal selling, exhibitions, production of multimedia presentations, building brands or marketing packs. The role involved day to day liaison with R&D, key customers, business commercial teams, plants and suppliers.

The role included accurate brief development leading into idea and concept generation utilizing Solidworks and Adobe CS4. Project management was essential, with regular presentation to clients and colleges.
