On August 25th of 2016 my family found itself in the midst of a crisis. The idea of wanting a specific job went abruptly out the window. The imitate threat became having any means of income, period! As the situation unfolded itself My husband and I sought guidance and refuge from our schools academic advising team. Sitting with counselors and weighing options to return to school for a second degree or career switcher. I was informed of the multiple resources Regent provided, when i discovered the best resource, in my opinion, was an in person introduction to Mr. Jose Roman. He took the time to educate me on the best employment seeking opportunities in the community, while coaching me on my resume, and setting me up with other services to assist me with polishing my resume. By the end of the week i had a clear career path as well as connections with network opportunities in the community that were currently hiring. As a post grad student, I was honestly feeling as though I was wondering around in the dark kneeing the furniture! with just a little bit of guidance and motivation life became a lot clearer in both a spiritual and professional sense. I hope he is okay with me sharing his secret, it's people. When networking became a key component to my job search I found my job search was over. I was offered a full-time position on the spot at Centerville Elementary. A school I had subbed for during my master’s degree program. The job was not posted, nor was it known to staff members outside of the administration. The job had just become available days prior. Due to the resume teaching and employment coaching employment became obtainable in a most familiar place. The testimony continues, after one week in connection with Mr. Roman, I was educated on procedures associated with requesting and participating in an informal interview. To demonstrate effectiveness Mr. Roman connected me with a vibrant and innovative young professional leader in the community by the name of Katie Ross.
