Barney remembered me from Smart Idea Financial Services - when he came over to Tokyo for a meeting with me and knew how little I liked to fly and how I believed in being eco-friendly - he knew I would be perfect for the job at SMARTmeetingsI have to take into account international objectives by planning, organizing and evaluating all of the financial accounts. I am also always on the look out for ways to save us money and make us a more eco-friendly organization.Staff management is the next huge responsibility for me - especially as most are a lot younger and it is their first job outside of nursery.

I got my first taste for managing staff as Finance Director at SIFS and this is where I first met Barney. We were frustrated at not being able to use better technology and having to fly to one another - I believe this is why he knew I would be perfect for the role at SMARTmeetings!Here I had much the same job role as I do at SMARTmeetings, except I had less flexibility on what I was allowed to demonstrate - they didn't really understand that reputation on things such as CSR and being eco-friendly had such an impact on profitability and sales! Word of mouth is a strong advertising channel after all, so I had to move to an organization that was on the same level as me.
