While working with this group I assisted in performing monitoring of the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse and pioneered our group's efforts to use radio telemetry to track mouse movements. I performed the research for my Master's thesis in collaboration with the group, examining the refuge use of mice during high tides as well as differences in movement.

I performed tagging of striped bass and sturgeon on the Sacramento river and in the San Francisco Bay Estuary. I conducted angler surveys in the same area. I also assisted in other project such as fish diversions and monitoring at intake facilities. These projects required work in inclement weather, often on boats. I was trained in a number of skills.
