Volunteer Experience Director
Designing and delivering comprehensive volunteer training programs in a variety of platforms, classroom, virtual, and blended, are just a couple of the highlights within my role. I strive to assess the needs of over 9,000 adult volunteers and develop innovative strategies and initiatives to meet those needs. Ultimately, my work is centered around providing our Girl Scouts an impactful and engaging Girl Scout Leadership Experience. In just under two years, I've been a leader in cultivating a more robust volunteer experience, establishing a streamlined on-boarding training program, and increasing e-learning enrichment participation by 150%. With a passion for innovation and collaboration, I am consistently striving to create meaningful programs that include collaboration across departments and a focus on our target audience, our Girl Scouts. As a result of my leadership, innovative thinking, and passion for excellence, I have the humble honor of contributing to our Strategic Alignment Team in identifying emerging trends and developing our council's strategic priorities for the next three years.
Undergraduate Admissions Diversity Coordinator
As the spearhead for the Hispanic Initiative at the University of Baltimore, my efforts included conducting community and institutional research to evaluate current initiatives; developing and implementing a strategic plan that includes both office and institutional goals; and establishing and cultivating relationships with community partners and government agencies, both city and state, that served the Hispanic/Latino and Asian communities of Maryland. Based on research and exploration, my efforts were to create programs, services, and resources that empowered these communities, particularly Hispanic youth and their parents, with strategies, knowledge, and tools to gain college access and success. Some of my initiatives included an educational college access fair for parents, Spanish translated college admission materials, college shadow day, and cultural programming.
Program Coordinator
As a cultural advisor and educator, I established and cultivated several new initiatives and resources within the Diversity and Culture Center: LGBTQ Safe Space Training and Initiative, UB Friends Program (a friendship program for international students), Taste of Latin America (an educational program celebrating Hispanic cultura), and the International Student Resource Guide. Through skillful research, planning, implementation, assessment, and relationship building, I helped coordinate more than 150 programs that focused on cultural awareness, education, training and empowerment. I also played an integral role in planning and implementing necessary support programs for the transition process of new international students, which included International Orientation and International Education Week. As the Staff Advisor of the International Student Association, I empowered international student leaders to achieve personal and professional successes. I enjoyed working with the international student population, as I understand their needs to be different from their American counterparts, and I enjoyed learning about their backgrounds and cultural indentities.
